Why is Jets' Todd Bowles sticking with Jeremy Bates as play caller?

The Jets' offense has been an abject failure lately, but coach Todd Bowles said Monday he is sticking with offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates as his player caller.

"It's everybody involved," Bowles said, explaining why he isn't making a change. "It's not just Jeremy. It's the other coaches and it's the players as well. We're all involved in that. It's never pointed to one person."

The Jets (3-8) have lost five straight games -- their longest skid in three-plus seasons under Bowles -- and they are playing out the string in what surely will be their final five games with Bowles as their coach.
