New York Jets fans entered the 2022 season with plenty of cautious optimism and had it quickly shot down, as per usual. A 24-9 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens got the season off to a discouraging start.
Truthfully, the optimism dwindled slightly before the season even kicked off, thanks to a combination of injuries to Zach Wilson, Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown.
But fans were still expecting to compete with the Ravens (a favorite to make the playoffs in a stacked AFC conference) due to the apparent roster upgrades the Jets made in the 2022 offseason.
