What will Woody Johnson do as U.K. ambassador?

After a 153-day wait, President Donald Trump officially nominated Jets owner Woody Johnson to be the U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Johnson, 69, has long been the rumored front-runner for the position, but Thursday Trump made things official.

So... what will Johnson do?

Johnson's primary goal will be to present American policies to the U.K., and U.K. policies back to the U.S. He's the main channel of communication between the two countries. He can also play a role in treaty negotiations, directing diplomatic trade activity, visa services and will oversee cultural relations.
