Jets coach Todd Bowles is tired of the penalty flags.
After his team was flagged 17 times in last week’s preseason game with the Falcons, Bowles has instituted a new policy that the team would run sprints if it gets more than five penalties in practice. On Wednesday, the Jets got six.
Besides the running, Bowles said they are doing other things to cut down on the flags.
“You practice hard counts, the get-off and everything like that,” Bowles said. “The holding ones you just can’t do down the field. You practice technique until you’re blue in the face.
