A day after rookie quarterback Sam Darnold's debut, in the Jets' 48-17 win Monday night at the Lions, Jets coach Todd Bowles remained impressed with Darnold's resilience and poise.
Darnold threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown on the game's first play. But he performed well after that, Bowles said Tuesday. Darnold's final stat line: 16-of-21 passing, 198 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and a 116.8 quarterback rating.
Fairly strong debut for Darnold, who continues to impress Bowles with what the coach called "an old soul."
"He's the same guy every day," Bowles said.
