What Jets revealed about their offense in first look

It would be foolish to read too much into anything that happened in Thursday’s preseason opener, but the one drive by the Jets’ starting offense offered a clue as to what this team wants to do with the ball.

Quite simply: Run, run, run.

Rex Ryan may be in Western New York, but Ground and Pound lives on with the Jets. The starters were in for nine plays, and six of them were runs. Chris Ivory carried it every time, gaining 25 yards. The running game was the lone silver lining the Jets could take away from a 23-3 loss to the Lions, and it gave fans a clue what Chan Gailey wants to do with his offense.
