The Jets spent plenty of money this offseason adding new weapons for young quarterback Sam Darnold, paying big money for one of the NFL’s most dynamic running backs (Le’Veon Bell), and adding one of the league’s best slot receivers (Jamison Crowder).
But the offense was still missing something heading into this year’s draft: A two-way tight end who can bolster the ground game with his blocking ability, while also making an impact in the passing game as a reliable receiver.
They found that player on Day 3 of this year’s draft, landing a complete player in Wesco.
