It came as no great surprise that the Jets lost to the Patriots on Sunday, 27-13.
But Jets offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates' approach in this game was rather eyebrow-raising, to say the least.
The Patriots allowed 150 rushing yards in their previous game, a loss to the Titans. Bates on Sunday called 12 running plays (yes, 12) and 50 passing plays -- 45 throws by Josh McCown, plus three McCown scrambles, and two sacks.
What was the deal with this game plan?
