A few days ago, Walt Powell was on the offensive. He was snaring passes crisply and in stride, many of them from third QB Jake Heaps, and taking off upfield. Was this one of the wideout's best days this summer?
"I don't measure them," he told me after that practice. "I just try to go out and get better each and every day. Anything positive is an improvement."
Powell is in a battle for a roster spot, but one thing that improves his chances is his return ability, which he displayed in his last two seasons for Murray State's FCS program in 2012-13 with fine averages of 13.
