Upon first watch, the New York Jets’ preseason game against the Carolina Panthers was a slog to get through. The two teams combined for 358 yards of offense, including 141 through the air. That was a good sign for the Jets’ defense, though, as New York held Carolina to 156 total yards and 56 passing yards.
New York’s offense barely produced any notable plays. Despite the defense’s dominance as a unit, it did not seem like many individual players stood out with impressive performances or splashy plays. As a team, the Jets only recorded one sack (picked up by Will McDonald), three quarterback hits, three pass deflections, and zero interceptions.
