ORLANDO, Fla. — Jets coach Todd Bowles did not give third-year quarterback Christian Hackenberg much of a vote of confidence on Tuesday.
“He’s a quarterback on our team,” Bowles said. “Everybody’s subject to competition and earning the job or not earning the job. Christian’s on our team. Regardless of who we bring in or how we bring him in, the competition has to be there for everybody.”
The end of Hackenberg’s career is likely near as the team is expected to draft a quarterback at No. 3, and they already have signed veterans Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater.
