FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Todd Bowles won't say if he expects Matt Forte to be ready for the season opener in 20 days.
"I can't tell you that right now," the New York Jets coach said Monday. "I've got to see him out there before I can make that decision."
Forte hasn't practiced since July 31 because of a pulled hamstring. On Monday, he was seen in positional drills, running and catching passes, but he didn't participate in the walk-through practice.
"If he's been out a while, he's probably hurting," Bowles said.
