INDIANAPOLIS — Jets coach Todd Bowles felt something unusual in his neck shortly after the start of the 2015 season, and follow-up tests revealed a benign tumor. But Bowles was so concerned that having surgery to remove the tumor during the season would potentially cause a disruption to the team that he opted to have it taken out once the Jets’ schedule was over.
“It was how much pain tolerance I could take,” Bowles said Wednesday afternoon at the NFL Scouting Combine following a briefing with reporters. “[The doctors] told me I could get it done after the season.
