Todd Bowles: Behavior on plane didn't trigger Quinton Coples ouster

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Quinton Coples wasn't released because of his behavior on the New York Jets' return flight from Houston last Sunday, according to coach Todd Bowles.

"Not at all," Bowles said after the Jets' 35-20 win over the Miami Dolphins. "Just like I said, he wasn't getting any playing time and we wanted the rest of the guys to play outside [linebacker] today. Q is a great guy. There wasn't an incident like that which got him cut. I have all the respect in the world for him."

Bowles didn't deny that something untoward happened on the flight, as ESPN.
