Thumb injury behind Jets missing tight end

The Jets have been missing one of their starters during recent OTA practices.

Tight end Kellen Davis, who started nine games last season, is out with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in one of his thumbs, The Post has learned. Davis had surgery on the thumb. The Jets expect he will be fully recovered before training camp begins in late July.

Davis suffered the injury in a recent OTA practice and has been sidelined since. The timing of the injury makes it a minor issue since the season is still three months away. The recovery period is about six weeks.
