Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan has made it known he would love to trade back from No. 3 in the NFL draft for the right package.
But will that right package come along?
It all depends on the league’s view of the quarterbacks at the top of this draft. We have seen in recent years that teams are willing to move up for quarterbacks. Jared Goff, Carson Wentz, Mitch Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes, Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen have all been taken after teams moved up to get them.
This year’s quarterback class does not grade out as high as some recent years, so the Jets may have a problem moving back and acquiring more picks.
