Within a flash, C.J. Mosley’s New York Jets career started out in grand style. Returning a Josh Allen pick to the house at MetLife Stadium put to bed any worries of overpaying a veteran inside linebacker—a position that doesn’t fall under the “premium” category in today’s NFL.
Of course, in heartbreaking fashion, as quickly as Mosley endeared himself to the Jets faithful was as quickly as he faded away. An innocuous middle-third zone responsibility out of the Tampa 2 placed Mosley in his own end zone while defending a pass. He exited the game to only return once the remainder of the season (the New England Patriots-ghost game).
