The man behind Joe Namath's white shoes deserves a tribute from the Jets

A look at what's happening around the New York Jets:

1. Hamp the champ: In two weeks, the Jets will induct Emerson Boozer and Matt Snell into their Ring of Honor. They should call an audible and add a third person -- former longtime equipment manager Bill Hampton, who died last week at 86. He deserves to be honored posthumously because you can't write the history of the Jets' franchise without mentioning Hampton, who held his job from 1964 to 2000. He arrived the year before Joe Namath and he lasted all the way to Vinny Testaverde and Curtis Martin.
