It has been so long since the Jets drafted an offensive player in the first round it feels like he wore a leather helmet.
In reality, it has been six years since the Jets took quarterback Mark Sanchez with the fifth pick in the 2009 draft. Since then, it’s been defense, defense and more defense in the first round.
Will this be the year that changes?
The Jets hold the No. 6 pick in Thursday’s first round and there figures to be plenty of good offensive options available. Wide receivers Amari Cooper of Alabama and Kevin White of West Virginia are seen as the top two players at their position and one of them probably will be available when the Jets are on the clock.
