Say this about Dave Gettleman: The man holds an entertaining press conference before the NFL Draft.
General managers almost always turn these into tedious, unrevealing affairs -- and, in the paranoid world of pro football, that's by design. Not Gettleman. The Giants GM was part NFL historian, part wise-cracking comedian and part Grampa Simpson during his 30-minute session with reporters.
He told old stories about his mom and dad. He drew up a mock draft board and assigned different positions to sportswriters in the room. He didn't quite wave his fist and yell at clouds, but he made it clear he wasn't fond of the modern college game.
