A tragic story has suddenly become a controversial one.
On Thursday, former Jets running back Joe McKnight was killed in Louisiana. The cause of death was gunshot wound that seemed to stem from a road-rage incident with a man named Ronald Glasser.
According a witness quoted by Nola.com, McKnight attempted to apologize to Glasser, but the shooter pulled the trigger anyway:
McKnight, 28, was shot about 3 p.m. at the intersection of Behrman Highway and Holmes Boulevard in Terrytown, a suburb of New Orleans. A witness, who declined to give her name, said she saw a man at the intersection yelling at McKnight, who was trying to apologize.
