A college education naturally evokes all sorts of interesting discoveries. That became especially true for Stony Brook’s Jaron Cornish, a point guard from the Bahamas by way of Florida, the first time he experienced snow.
It was before a game at Michigan State early last season. “Walking outside, he was like 'Whoa!’ And when that first sub-zero temperature hit, I was expecting him to call me and say he was going to transfer,” coach Jeff Boals said. “It will be 64 degrees and he’ll be wearing a winter hat.”
Cornish still does not care for winter weather, but he otherwise loves his environment.
