FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- With injury concerns at running back, the New York Jets are poised to sign veteran Bernard Pierce, a league source confirmed on Wednesday.
Two backups, Zac Stacy and Khiry Robinson, are returning from broken bones. A source told ESPN's Adam Caplan that Stacy will be waived with a failed physical designation because of an fractured ankle that required surgery and there's a good chance Robinson, who broke his leg last season, could begin training camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list.
Pierce must serve a two-game suspension to start the season because of a DUI arrest in March last year.
