BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Free-agent linebacker Erin Henderson, who made a successful return to the NFL after sitting out a season due to personal problems, is re-signing with the New York Jets, a league source said on Wednesday.
Henderson agreed to terms on a two-year, $3.1 million contract. It can be worth up to $5 million if he triggers incentives and escalators. He becomes the favorite to start at one of the inside-linebacker spots, alongside mainstay David Harris. Ostensibly, Henderson replaces Demario Davis, who signed a free-agent deal last week with the Cleveland Browns.
