The New York Jets added depth to their linebacking corps, agreeing to terms Saturday with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers free-agent bust Bruce Carter, a league source confirmed. Carter will reportedly sign a one-year contract.
The Jets have signed two veteran inside linebackers in a span of 10 days. Carter and Erin Henderson, who re-signed last week, will compete for the inside slot alongside David Harris in the Jets' 3-4 defense.
Carter, a former second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys, took free-agent visits to the Jets, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills in recent days.
