Former New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis, who announced last August that he was "stepping away" from football, apparently is planning to return.
Davis, 29, has applied for reinstatement to the NFL and the Jets are expected to release him from the reserve/retired list on Thursday, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.
The Jets are under no obligation to relinquish their rights, but they will do so with the possibility that he might re-sign with them. They certainly have a place for him. They want to add a veteran receiver to join Garrett Wilson & Co.
