‘Sorer than normal’: Muhammad Wilkerson’s status in doubt

The Jets, in need of some positive news, were out of luck Friday.

They could be without struggling defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson on Sunday against the Ravens. Without a sack since the season’s opening weekend, Wilkerson didn’t practice Friday because his ankle was “sorer than normal,” coach Todd Bowles said, and the Jets wanted him to get extra treatment.

“We’ll see what he looks like on Sunday,” Bowles said. “It will probably go up to the game.”

Wilkerson reportedly said his foot has bothered him for a few weeks, though he has appeared in 96 percent of the Jets defense’s reps.
