Even as a kid, Ron enjoyed food and was always fond of the outdoors, so he felt it was only a matter of time before the two came together for him. I was curious how he became a Kansas City Barbeque Society judge.

“Well, a couple of years ago my wife got me the greatest Christmas gift ever, and in fact I told her, 'You may as well not buy me another gift because you can’t match that,” he said smiling. “She sent me to a barbequing cooking school down in Unadilla, GA, with Myron Mixon, who's one of the big names of barbeque, and quite honestly it changed my life.
