General manager Mike Maccagnan’s big offensive offseason acquisition turned heads in his MetLife Stadium debut.
Brandon Marshall, the No. 1 wide receiver the Jets have needed for years, turned the boos from Gang Green fans directed at quarterback Geno Smith into cheers, hauling in a pair of touchdown receptions in the team’s Green and White practice Saturday night.
“It’s exciting for all of us,” Smith said. “Not just myself, but for those offense, for this team, for the fans, the community. Everyone got a chance to see what he brings to this offense.”
The 6-foot-4 Marshall, acquired for a fifth-round pick from the Bears, was brought in during the offseason to elevate the anemic aerial attack.
