According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Jets have agreed to sign veteran free agent guard Rodger Saffold. Saffold has not played since the 2022 season as a member of the Buffalo Bills. The plan, according to Schefter is for Saffold to join the Jets practice squad before being elevated to the active roster.
Taken in the second-round of the NFL draft by the Rams in 2010, the two-time pro bowler has started 173 games between the Rams, Titans and Buffalo Bills.
With their offensive line ravaged by injuries to Alijah Vera-Tucker, Joe Tippmann, Connor McGovern and Wes Schweitzer, the Jets were desperate for help along the interior.
