FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – You won’t get a lot of edginess or charisma from Sam Darnold, who is as meat-and-potatoes as they come for a 20-year-old quarterback now thrust into the New York media spotlight.
That’s not such a bad thing, because the idea is to be recognized for what happens on the field, not for what is said to the media or what happens off the field, especially the kind of thing that makes for unseemly headlines.
