CHICAGO — The Jets tried a football experiment on Sunday — playing without an offense for most of the game.

Their injury-depleted offense looked pathetic for three quarters and the Bears did just enough to hand Gang Green a 24-10 loss and send them to 3-5 for the third straight year. They finished 5-11 in each of the previous two seasons.

The Jets were missing wide receivers Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa, center Spencer Long and running back Bilal Powell. It showed. Rookie quarterback Sam Darnold completed 14-of-29 passes for 153 yards and one touchdown and 94 of those yards came in the fourth quarter.
