ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Ryan Fitzpatrick finally exorcised his Buffalo demons.
Eight months after playing one of his worst games in a Jets uniform, the journeyman quarterback returned to his old stomping ground and proved he’s still got it. Behind Fitzpatrick’s 374 passing yards and Matt Forte’s three touchdown runs, the Jets defeated the Bills, 37-31, Thursday night at New Era Field. Fitzpatrick had been 1-8 against Rex Ryan teams.
Forte had 100 yards on 30 carries, and Eric Decker (126 yards, touchdown), Brandon Marshall (101 yards) and Quincy Enunwa (92 yards) each had six catches. The 374 yards were Fitzpatrick’s second-best total with the Jets, who had lost five in a row to the Bills.
