At the time of the Jets’ trade for left tackle Ryan Clady, the common refrain was the deal could be a good one if Clady stayed healthy.
He didn’t.
Clady, 30, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, ending his season. He was acquired this offseason, at the cost of a fifth-round draft pick, to take over for the very durable D’Brickashaw Ferguson. Now, that mantle falls to journeyman Ben Ijalana.
Also Wednesday, the Jets activated wide receiver Devin Smith from the PUP list and waived defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins.
