Rontez Miles said he saw one thing as he was running toward the end zone in the third quarter of the Jets' preseason opener against Atlanta on Friday night.
"I had my eyes on the prize," he said.
Preseason prizes don't count in the record books or in the eyes of most fans, but they count for coaches and players, and the Jets' 30-22 victory figured big for Miles, the first-year safety/special-teamer who's fighting in his third Jets training camp to win a roster spot this summer.
He started to flash in the first half when he put on two rushes that almost enabled him to get a hand on Matt Bosher punts.
