FLORHAM PARK — The Jets had a full game plan practice on Thursday, two days before their second preseason game against the Lions.
What's a game plan practice, you say?
The starting unit (offense or defense) plays the scout team. Before each snap, coaches hold up a card featuring a play that week's opponent may run (the Lions). The scout team then runs it against the starters at three-quarters speed.
It helps the players, but from an evaluation standpoint, there's not much there.
After practice, coach Todd Bowles did take time to update all on several ailing Jets.
