Q&A: Why Lorenzo Mauldin thinks Jets are 'most definitely' still a playoff team

FLORHAM PARK — You could have handpicked any Jets played this summer, and they all would have told you the same thing: This team is headed to the playoffs.

Everything was in place. Ryan Fitzpatrick had just re-signed. The defense was just as ferocious. The special teams improved.

After coming so close in 2015, and having so many of the same players returning to make a run in 2016, there was no way the Jets could fall short this year.

Through two games, the Jets are 1-2. Critics have said the team looks much more like a mediocre squad than a championship contender.
