Post-surgery Ryan Fitzpatrick gets Todd Bowles’ green light

Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick practiced fully on Thursday, and coach Todd Bowles said he would start Sunday’s game with the Texans.

It was the first practice for Fitzpatrick since undergoing surgery on his left thumb last Friday.

“I thought he did a good job,” Bowles said. “I didn’t think he was any worse for wear from last week. He’s not taking pain medicine or anything. He had a full practice so he’ll play Sunday barring any setbacks.”

Fitzpatrick said Wednesday that he was going to play, but Bowles said he needed to see him practice before making a decision.
