One player the Jets can’t lose

When center Nick Mangold did not get up late in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots, everyone in the Jets’ organization held their breath. There might not be a more important player on the roster than Mangold, who is the nerve center of the Jets’ offense.

The tests showed no damage in Mangold’s neck, but he still was sore Monday, according to coach Todd Bowles. It will be something to watch this week if he practices. If Mangold can’t play Sunday against the Raiders, the Jets are in major trouble. There is a big drop-off to backup Dakota Dozier.
