FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates said the Jets took a step backward in the run game and didn’t play hard enough last week against Chicago.
It was the second week in a row the Jets couldn’t get their ground game going. They had only 57 yards on 24 carries against a defense without Khalil Mack.
“They played harder than us,” Bates said Thursday. “When you go into a game like that in those conditions and you want to major in running the ball, it’s all about attitude. I think we kind of took a step back in the run game last Sunday.
