Entering the final week of the preseason, the New York Jets brass hinted that some of the starters would play at least a quarter and maybe even a full half against the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, New Jersey was hit with a torrential downpour prior to and during the early part of the game, leading to a delayed start.
Pictures of the playing conditions leaked before the matchup took place. The conditions, at the minimum, were far from ideal.
It was then released that the Jets would be resting many of their starters, including Zach Wilson, Corey Davis, Connor McGovern, Foley Fatukasi, Sheldon Rankins, Jamison Crowder and more.
