The New York Jets were in danger of having their season slipping from their grasp. Falling to 1-3 after an unexpected nail-biting loss at home against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Jets needed a win in Denver against the reeling 1-3 Broncos.
This was a Broncos team that had a historically bad start defensively through their first four games. For a Jets offense that had just shown signs of serious progress against the Chiefs, this was a game where they simply had to play well offensively.
And for the most part, the Jets were able to do that.
