New York Jets fans tend to be an old-school bunch. Despite the team just recently getting a brand-new set of uniforms and logos in 2019, a large chunk of the fanbase has continued to clamor for the team to bring back some of its classic looks – particularly its uniform, helmet, and logo from the 1980s.
Through a social media post on Thursday, team owner Woody Johnson seemed to subtly poke at the fanbase’s collective desire for throwback uniforms. Jets fans on Twitter were sent into a tizzy.
Johnson shared a video of Ken O’Brien’s 43-yard touchdown pass to Wesley Walker in a 1986 game against the Miami Dolphins – an overtime game-winner that sealed a 51-45 Jets victory.
