The young fans at Summer Camp Day received a special treat today: the first live contact of Jets training camp. And in the middle of the fray was a young Jet by the name of Deon Simon.
"On goal line, I was in the middle of all that," said Simon, the 6'4", 322-pound, seventh-round nose tackle for Northwestern State. Was the live drill everything he expected it to be? "Yes sir," he replied. "It's just being physical."
Simon, who's been moving between the second and third units, was active in the short-yardage running drills at midfield, when the defense seemed to have the upper hand.
