ORLANDO, Fla. -- Jets acting owner Christopher Johnson's older brother, Woody, works for President Donald Trump. But Christopher disagrees with Trump's stance that NFL players should be forced to stand for the national anthem.
While not speaking directly about Trump, Johnson said Sunday at the NFL Annual Meeting that he thinks the NFL should not mandate that players stand for the anthem.
"I don't agree with that, but I'm only one of 32 owners," Johnson said. "So we'll see how that goes. I just think that trying to forcibly get the players to shut up is a fantastically bad idea.
