The Jets have used first-round draft picks on defensive linemen four times in the last five years. So why not do it again!
Even after one considers the picks the Jets have used on Muhammad Wilkerson (2011), Quinton Coples (RIP, 2012), Sheldon Richardson (2013), and Leonard Williams (2015), the idea isn't as crazy as it sounds. Rosters often turn over for a variety of reasons, and general manager Mike Maccagnan is a avowed congregant of the Church of Best Player Available.
Which is why Lance Zierlein of NFL.com can picture the Jets going D-line again in this year's draft, even in light of their other (more pressing) needs.
