NFL free agents 2018: Jets will go into offseason program with Josh McCown as starter, but ...

Yes, the Jets on Tuesday re-signed quarterback Josh McCown, to a one-year contract worth $10 million. (It was, after all, a reasonable move once they struck out with Kirk Cousins, who is going to Minnesota.)

Yes, they told McCown during the re-signing process -- as a league source confirmed to NJ Advance Media -- that he would go into the offseason workout program (and probably also training camp) as the team's starting quarterback.

Yes, McCown is not the long-term quarterback answer for the Jets.
