NFL Draft 2018: Jets showing interest in intriguing, middle-rounds running back

The team-friendly structure of the contract the Jets gave new running back Isaiah Crowell -- plus the fact that Bilal Powell (soon to be 30) is entering the final year of his contract -- means the Jets might draft a running back for the second straight year.

They took Eli McGuire in the sixth round last year. Now, as the 2018 NFL Draft approaches, they are doing their homework on an intriguing, middle-rounds running back -- North Carolina State's Nyheim Hines.

N.C. State held its pro day Monday. On Sunday night, Jets running backs coach Stump Mitchell took Hines out for dinner, a league source told NJ Advance Media.
