Even happy returns end in heartbreak for the 2019 New York Jets. In the same week that Sam Darnold was cleared for a return to the field, another rearrival will likely be delayed.
According to head coach Adam Gase, Chris Herndon might not make his 2019 debut against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS).
The tight end suffered a medical setback last Friday, injuring his hamstring while running routes. Herndon did not practice on Wednesday.
“(We’ll) see if we can get him back towards the end of the week but it’s legit, it’s a legit hamstring,” Gase said, per transcripts from the Jets.
