While the NFL playoffs are still underway, for the New York Jets, the offseason has been going on for a while.
Jets management recently made their first big move of the offseason announcing that Adam Gase has been hired as the new head coach. While it was not the most exciting hire, or the one this particular writer wanted, there are reasons for the fan base to be hopeful.
Gase has prior head coaching experience and significant experience working with offenses and quarterbacks. This stands in stark contrast to many of the Jets recent head coaches who had defensive backgrounds and limited (if any) head coaching experience.
